The UAE Ministry of Economy has launched its new app for tourists.
The ‘Be Happy – Visit UAE’ app has been designed to provide tourism information and interactive services to visitors, as well as to gain their feedback and measure satisfaction.
The app includes an avatar bot of an Emirati character, that will provide information to tourists. Alongside information on sites of interest, hotels, restaurants and so on, the app also includes feature for users to indicate their satisfaction and happiness depending on their location.
The application also includes live chats and interactive discussions for visitors to express their needs and to suggest tourism services to users.
HE Mohammed Khamis Al Muhairi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Economy, explained that the launch of the app forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to integrate innovation into the main economic sectors of the UAE. Initiatives advance the Ministry’s vision of building a diversified and knowledge-based economy empowered by innovation and new technology. The app will also form the basis for analysis of visitor satisfaction, he added, and provide a source of suggestions and comments on the tourism sector.
The app, which is in the first phase of its roll out, was launched at the Tourism Innovation and Transformation Forum 2016. The second phase of the app is due to launch by the end of this year.
